Converting the once-private residence was more an act of preservation than of transformation. Dreimeta design studio highlighted the structure’s weather-worn imperfections.
The self-catering luxury guest house is located in the former service buildings of a mansion built in 1860. While the old wooden beams and high ceilings still give away the history of the building, much love and care were invested to transform it into a spacious, warm and cozy home. Invisible from the eyes of the world, you will find the intimate privacy at Hof van Roosmalen to be both pleasurable and invigorating for short and long stays. The carefully chosen natural materials, design furniture and art objects will make you feel at home immediately.
Hof van Roosmalen is a pleasant place to work and relax during your business trip as well. Exhibiting at the annual fine art fair TEFAF, traveling the area visiting clients or colleagues, you will find the house to be quiet and comfortable. Moreover, it provides the rest that you would seek when writing your book, or strategy.
The hidden guest house is on two floors and sleeps six comfortably in three separate bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. The stylish living area with comfortable couches and a well-equipped island kitchen complete the ‘home feeling’. In the garden you find a seating area and the wellness area with private sauna and heated swimming pool (optional extra).
Stepping outside into the secret garden, you will lose yourself in an oasis of peace behind the old walls. The passion of the late, New Zealand-born Patricia van Roosmalen- O’Brien, this former show garden ranked among Flander’s finest. The old medlar tree is a beautiful eyecatcher in the various garden rooms. One is including a kitchen garden, where you can pick fresh vegetables for your meal. You can enjoy an outdoor breakfast, lunch, dinner or drink in your private courtyard. And for the ultimate relaxation, pay a visit to the private sauna or the heated pool (available as an extra option). Sitting in the quiet garden, listening to the cheerful birdsong, you can easily imagine yourself living in this wonderful place in the 19th century.
